This policy explains what personal data Trevatt Design Ltd collects, why, and what your rights are. Trevatt Design Ltd is a limited company registered in England and Wales. Michael Trevatt is the director and is responsible for how your data is handled. If anything here is unclear, email michael@trevattdesign.com and I will answer plainly.
What I collect
I only collect what I need. When you use the contact form or email me directly, I receive your name, email address, any phone number you give, and whatever you write in your message. When you visit the site, the hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How I use it
Contact details are used to reply to your enquiry, discuss a possible project, and keep a record of our correspondence. Technical information is used to keep the site secure and working. I do not sell your data, and I do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Legal basis
Where you contact me about work, I process your data on the basis of taking steps to enter into a contract and my legitimate interest in running a design practice. Where the law requires consent, I ask for it.
Who else is involved
A small number of service providers process data on my behalf under contract: the website host, which serves the site and keeps server logs, and the form provider, which delivers contact-form submissions to my inbox. Each is bound to handle your data securely and only as instructed. I may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for an active or prospective project, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. Server logs are short-lived. You can ask me to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict how it is used. To exercise any of these, email michael@trevattdesign.com. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is intended for business clients. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Security
I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but I treat the information you share with care.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
