Healthcare & Wellbeing

Healthcare design demands empathy, accessibility and trust, because getting it wrong affects real wellbeing.

Empathy first

Design that meets people at anxious moments with calm and care.

Accessibility

WCAG built in from the start, not bolted on before launch.

Patient flows

Booking and care journeys that stay clear under real-world complexity.

Credibility

Visual trust signals that reassure patients and clinicians alike.

Data handling

Sensitive data designed for with GDPR and consent in mind.

Many audiences

Patients, practitioners and admins each served without three separate products.

The people using it are often vulnerable. The design has to earn their trust.

Plain copy instead of clinical jargon, accessibility built in from the first wireframe. I keep patients, practitioners and admins each on a clear path through the same system.

UX Design

Empathetic, accessible design for healthcare users.

UI Design

Clean, trustworthy interfaces.

Websites

Practice websites and health service platforms.

Apps

Health and wellbeing apps.

Branding

Brand identity for healthcare providers.

Portals & Dashboards

Patient portals and practitioner dashboards.

Why does healthcare design need a specialist?

Because tone and accessibility are not optional here. Get them wrong and you lose trust or shut people out entirely. I've designed a therapy practice website and a dementia care app where this mattered directly to vulnerable users.

Is the work accessible?

Accessibility is a requirement, not a feature. WCAG AA is the baseline as standard, designed in from the first wireframe rather than retrofitted in a panic before launch.

Can you design for patients and practitioners at once?

Yes. Healthcare products usually serve several audiences: patients, practitioners and administrators. Each needs its own clear flow without fragmenting the product into separate things.

How do you handle sensitive content and data?

Carefully. Sensitive subjects need a considered tone and honest, plain copy, never clinical jargon or false cheer. Anything touching patient data is designed with GDPR and informed consent in mind.
